The Igbo political group, Ndigbo United Association aka Igbo House has endorced the Labour Party Presidential Candidate Peter Obi and its candidates for Oshodi-Isolo federal Constituency 2,Prince Okey-Joe Onuakalusi.
The President of Igbo House,Dr Feguson Nnaji in the declaration said they are not supporting Peter Obi because he is an Igbo man but because among the presidential aspirants he is the most qualified and the less corrupt, saying that it would be a mistake to vote the other candidates.
According to him Nigeria would be making an error to vote for either the All Progressive Congress(APC) or the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) candidates because the national problems left behind by the out-going regime would be too much for the duo to solve.
High Chief John Uche in his reply said that Obi is a Nigerian asset and that all Nigerians should support him so that the nation can be restored in the overall interest of the black man, saying that Obi will help Nigeria greatly if elected next month.
Going further, he said that Prince Okey-Joe is another asset that will bring the dividends of democracy to Osho-Isolo federal Constituency, maintaining that people like the candidate is needed in the Labour Party to ensure the success of the Party.
Prince Okey-Joe in his statement thanked Igbo House for the endorcement promising not to fail them if elected to over see that constituency, stressing that he intends to institute a quarterly Town-Hall meetings so that it would be a dispensation where dwellers in the constituency would have a say in the decision making process.
Also, he said Labour was a party founded to ensure the welfare of the people and so his tenure would witness people oriented programmes and support for artisans, market women, farmers and students of various hues.
He posited that free medical care and free education interventions would also be executed to touch the lives of the poor in one way or the other.
The event was graced by a lot of dignitaries including Eze Igbo Gburugburu of Malaysia, Eze Emmanuel Asanya who stated that Obi’s candidacy was unique and that he is detribalized
