Igbo Day: Obasanjo, Ohuabunwa call for peace and progress… As Ohaneze back Igbo Presidency 2023

The National Publicity Secretary of Ohaneze, Barrister Uche Achi-Okpaga has said that its time for Ndigbo to produce the next President of Nigeria and has urged all Igbos to support  this effort in order to save the country.

Speaking at the Igbo Day celebration held at the Police College Ikeja , Lagos over the Weekend graced by former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, Presidential aspirant under the stable of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Senator Ita Giwa, the Ohaneze Spokesman who represented the President-general ,Professor George Obiozor said  the group is determined to ensure a President of Igbo extraction come 2023.

During his contribution Obasanjo called for the peace and unity of the country, saying that its only via the instrumentality of peace that Nigeria can experience prosperity, growth and development.

He called for patience and faith on the part of all Nigerians, saying that the future is bright if we can work together in brother-hood to make the country great

Mazi Ohuabunwa praised Ndigbo for being the development catalyst in the country and beyond and told them that their contributions for the betterment of Nigeria is well known and urged them not to be weary in well doing.

He stated that the North, the South and the West has been saying that time has come for Ndigbo to take the presidential slot in the country and therefore the need is apparent for Igbos to brace themselves to ensure that they take adequate steps to accept that invitation in the overall benefit of Nigeria.

The event was graced by Igbo heavyweights in Lagos and some others that came from far and wide. The event featured masquerades of various types and cultural displays and traditional regalia’s as well as Igbo traditional songs and solos by different musical groups.
