Carnage In South East Nigeria

Several collateral damages will occur in course of a brutal struggle. It is regrettable but Igbos have lost several people and properties in the North due to riots since 1970 to date. The Igbos are no longer interested in Nigeria.

Total compliance with IPOB’s stay at home order confirms it. By unleashing Fulani terrorists on them, excluding them from Nigeria’s Security Council and merciless killing of Igbo youths by Army and Police since 2015, President Buhari has added a lot of impetus to the agitation for Biafra.

Niger Delta militants and Boko Haram have demonstrated that the Nigerian Army has lost its past glory. The Biafrans are fighting guerrilla warfare which is a war of attrition that will wear the Army down with time.

President Buhari’s hard line against Igbos  and hatred for them will only escalate the agitation. He should be called to order. Only dialogue, brokered by Southern governors and elders can bring the situation under control.
