UBA Reports 2.3% Increase in Profit After Tax for Nine Months 2025

United Bank for Africa (UBA) released its unaudited financial results for third quarter ended September 30, 2025, showcasing a resilient performance amidst a challenging operating environment.

Despite a 10.5% year-on-year decline in earnings per share (EPS) to N13.56, the bank’s profit after tax (PAT) increased by 2.3% year-on-year to N537.53 billion.

Interest income grew by  10.1% year-on-year to N1.98 trillion, driven by higher earnings from investment securities and loans to banks.

Net interest income ex-LLE grew by 13.8% year-on-year to N1.11 trillion, supported by a significant decline in credit impairment charges.

Operating expenses rose by 4.2% year-on-year to N846.15 billion, driven by higher personnel costs, AMCON levy, and depreciation.
