Lafarge Africa Sustain Growth … As 2025 Third Quarter Profit After Tax Surges By 246% 

Lafarge Africa Plc released its third quarter  unaudited financial results for the period ended September 30, 2025, showcasing impressive growth driven by strong topline expansion and significant margin accretion.

The company’s profit after tax jumped by 246% year-on-year to N207.78 billion in the first nine months of 2025, reflecting sustained volume growth, operational excellence, and innovative product offerings.

Highlight of the result shows that revenue expanded by 43.3% year-on-year to N263.51 billion, with nine months 2025 revenue growing 62.6% year-on-year to N780.49 billion.

Management attributed the strong topline to improved volumes and enhanced plant reliability, with capacity utilisation improving by c.7.0%.
While market watchers  believe that price increases contributed meaningfully to the growth. However, revenue declined slightly by 1.9% quarter to quarter, reflecting the typical third quarter  slowdown caused by heavy rainfall affecting construction activity.

Profit after tax surged 144.5% year-on-year to N75.10 billion, with nine months 2025 profit after tax growing 246% year-on-year to N207.78 billion.

Gross margin expanded 10.90 percentage points year-on-year to 63.8%, driven by slower growth in cost of sales ex-depreciation.

Looking ahead, analysts  expect earnings resilience to be sustained over the remainder of the year, underpinned by a supportive macroeconomic backdrop, continued product innovation and market penetration, operational efficiency gains from improved plant utilisation, stable energy pricing and increased alternative fuel adoption.
