MTN Nigeria Earnings Rebounds to N13.41, Revenue Up 68.1%

MTN Nigeria Communications Plc announced its unaudited results for the period ended June 30,  2025, showing a strong recovery in earnings per share (EPS) to N13.41, compared to a loss per share of N6.08 in second quarter of 2024.

The company’s revenue increased by 68.1% year-on-year, driven by double-digit growth across all segments, including data, voice, digital, fintech, and other service revenue.

The company’s EBITDA margin expanded significantly by 21.80 percentage points to 53.7%, marking its highest quarterly EBITDA margin since first quarter of 2022.

Profit after tax rebounded to N281.17 billion, compared to a loss of N126.36 billion in second quarter of 2024.

The strong performance was driven by subscriber growth, increased data traffic, and price adjustments.

Data subscribers rose by 11.8% to 51.0 million, while data traffic expanded by 41.2% year-on-year.

The company’s digital and fintech segments also benefited from higher demand for rich media and strong uptake of value-added services.

The results are expected to boost investor confidence in the company, with analysts predicting continued strong earnings momentum in half year of 2025, driven by pricing benefits and a more stable macroeconomic environment.
