First HoldCo Plc Reports 13.0% Decline in Profit After Tax

First HoldCo released its unaudited nine months financial results for the period ended September 30, 3025, showcasing a mixed performance amidst a challenging operating environment.

Despite a strong growth in interest income, the company’s profit after tax (PAT) declined by 13.0% year-on-year to N458.08 billion, driven by a sharp drop in non-interest income and elevated operating expenses.

Interest income rose by 40.4% year-on-year to N2.29 trillion, driven by stronger returns on loans to customers and investment securities.

Net interest income grew by 71.7% year-on-year to N1.50 trillion, supported by the high-yield environment and moderate loan book expansion.

Non-interest income declined by 49.1% year-on-year to N297.55 billion, driven by fair value losses.
