CIBN Set to Honour Distinguished Bankers at 2025 Fellowship Investiture

 

 

As the banking industry continues to evolve, the need for innovation and technological advancement has become more critical than ever. The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) has finalized arrangements to share insights, experiences, and best practices on leveraging technology to enhance performance and drive sustainable growth. The 2025 CIBN Fellowship Investiture will further underscore the Institute’s unwavering commitment to advancing the banking profession.

The event, scheduled for Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at the Banquet Hall, Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts (National Arts Theatre), Iganmu, Surulere, Lagos.

This year’s investiture will feature the conferment of Fellowship status on over 685 qualified and distinguished members who have demonstrated excellence and professionalism in the banking and finance industry.

A major highlight of the ceremony will be the conferment of the Fellowship status on eminent bankers and industry leaders including: Mr. Bala M. Bello, Deputy Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN); Mrs. Emem Usoro, Deputy Governor, Corporate Services, CBN; Dr. Mohammed Sani Abdullahi, Deputy Governor, Economic Policy, CBN; Mr. Olusegun Alebiosu, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, First Bank of Nigeria Limited; Mrs. Adaora Umeoji, OON, Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Zenith Bank Plc; Mr. Imam Hassan, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Keystone Bank Limited; Mr. Lawal kayode, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Polaris Bank Limited; Mr. Abiagam Paul, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Coronation Merchant Bank; Mrs. Enwereji Nneka Stella, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Citibank Nigeria Limited & Citi Country Officer, Nigeria and Ghana; Dr. Adeola Phillips, HCIB, Chairman, Parallex Bank; Mr. Haruna Musa, Ph.D., Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Jaiz Bank Plc; Mrs. Funmi Ekundayo, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, STL Trustees Limited; Mr. Dapo Olagunju, Managing Director, JP Morgan Chase; Prof. Ahmad Bello Dogarawa, Department of Accounting, Ahmadu Bello University; Mr. Holloway Oladisun, Chairman of Theatre Partners Ltd (Guaranty); Dr. Barry Gbe (JP), Chief Economic Adviser to the Governor of Delta State; Mr. Oladele Michael, Director, Milestone Millennium Enterprises Nigeria Limited; Mr. Gyallesu Yusuf, Managing Consultant at GYAFIN Consults; Mr. Falowo Olukayode, Chairman, Greenwich Merchant Bank among others.

 

Out of the 685 investees, 20 will be conferred Honorary Fellowship, 438 as Elected Fellows, while 227 will be admitted as Honorary Senior Members of the Institute. According to a statement by Mrs. Folake Akintayo, Head, Corporate Communications and Brand Management, CIBN, the honour recognizes the awardees’ meritorious service, professional excellence, and valuable contributions to the growth and development of the banking industry and the Nigerian economy at large.

 

The keynote address titled “Banking Beyond Boundaries: Leveraging Technological Innovations for Enhanced Performance in the Nigerian Banking Industry” will be delivered by Dr. Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, CEO of Future Africa and Co-founder of Andela.

 

The event will have in attendance Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, FCIB, Executive Governor of Lagos State, and Mallam Dikko Umar Radda, Ph.D., CON, Executive Governor of Katsina State, as Special Guests of Honour.

 

Other distinguished guests expected include captains of industry, top government and diplomatic officials, financial decision-makers, bank executives, academics, and representatives of professional institutions.

 

The event will be chaired by Prof. Pius Deji Olanrewaju, Ph.D., FCIB, President/Chairman of Council, CIBN, while Dr. Dele Alabi, FCIB, 1st Vice President, will serve as Chief Host, supported by Akin Morakinyo, ACIB, HCIB, Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of the Institute.
