Airtel Africa Plc, has announced its third quarter  unaudited financial results for the period ended December 31, 2024, reporting a significant growth in profit after tax (PAT) to USD168.71 million, representing a 10.4-fold increase year-over-year.

Highlights of the nine months results shows that  the company’s revenue grew by 2.4% year-over-year to USD1.27 billion, driven by growth in data and mobile money services.

Data revenue expanded by 7.9% year-over-year, while mobile money revenue increased by 23.4% year-over-year.

Airtel Africa’s EBITDA margin declined by 212 basis points to 46.9%, due to currency depreciation and high energy prices.

However, the company’s total finance costs fell by 80.1% year-over-year to USD72.51 million, mainly due to an exceptional derivative and foreign exchange gain.

The company’s subscriber base grew by 7.9% year-over-year to 163.10 million, with 6.46 million net additions in Q3 2025.

Data usage per subscriber also increased by 32.7% year-over-year to 6.9GB per month.

Airtel Africa’s Chief Executive Officer, Sunil Taldar, commenting on the results, said, “We are pleased with the progress we have made in Q3 2025, despite the challenging macroeconomic environment. Our focus on expanding our distribution network, enhancing our digital offerings, and improving our operational efficiency has yielded positive results.”
