Nigeria’s AGF Emphasizes Importance of Digital Transformation and Regulatory Frameworks for Socio-Economic Development

The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef O. Fagbemi, SAN, has highlighted the critical role of digital transformation in Nigeria’s socio-economic development.

He made this remark in a keynote address at a workshop for Attorneys-General of States on building and driving synergy in regulating communications for digital transformation in Nigeria.

Fagbemi commended the Nigerian Communications Commission for organizing the workshop, which aims to identify and bridge knowledge gaps in regulatory frameworks and strengthen mechanisms for regulating communications in Nigeria.

The AGF emphasized the need for a well-regulated communications sector that protects consumer rights, ensures data protection, and supports the ease of doing business in Nigeria.

He noted that the justice and judicial sector play a critical role in regulating communications and upholding the rule of law.

The workshop brings together key stakeholders to discuss and exchange ideas on how to drive digital transformation in Nigeria, and Fagbemi’s remarks underscore the importance of effective regulatory frameworks in achieving this goal.
