United Capital Group opens first office outside Nigeria in Cote’d Ivoire

United Capital Group, a leading Nigerian investment management company, has marked a significant milestone in its history with the launch of its first office outside Nigeria in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

This strategic expansion into the African region is a bold step forward in the company’s mission to shape Africa’s financial future and expand access to transformative investment and wealth solutions.

With this expansion, United Capital Group becomes the first Nigerian investment management group to be licensed by the Financial Markets Authority of West African Economic & Monetary Union (AMF-UMOA).

The licence allows the company to conduct investment management business across eight countries in the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) Zone, including Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte D’Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal, and Togo.

Speaking at the launch, the Group Managing Director of the company Peter Ashade expressed pride, purpose, and possibility, highlighting the company’s commitment to deepening capital markets, expanding financial inclusion, and unlocking prosperity across the WAEMU region.

With over 60 years of experience, United Capital Group aims to contribute to the region’s economic growth, learn from its partners, and build lasting value for individuals, families, and communities.

The company’s leadership paid tribute to key stakeholders, including Tony Elumelu, Chairman of Heirs Holdings, Prof. Chika Mordi, United Capital Board Chairman, and Dr. Emomotimi Agama, Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), for their support and presence at the launch.

This development marks a significant step in United Capital Group’s Pan-African dream, and the company looks forward to building an African future that works for all, powered by African capital and wealth.
