The Nigerian equities market extended its losing streak as the NGX All-Share Index declined by 21 basis points to 100,156.96 points, down from 100,365.17 points in the previous session.
The market’s negative performance was driven by profit-taking in major stocks such as FBNH, UBA, ZENITHBANK, DANGSUGAR, and TRANSCORP, among others.
Despite the decline, market activity was positive, with trading volume and value increasing by 169.08% and 12.43% to 1.34 billion units and N9.67 billion, respectively.
However, investor wealth decreased by N117.90 billion, bringing the market capitalization to N56.71 trillion. The year-to-date return settled at 34.295%.
