BROKERS ON THE TRADING FLOOR

The Nigerian Stock Exchange All Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization increased by 0.99 percent at the close of business on Thursday 19, 2016. The All Share Index closed at 27,028.24 against the previous close of 26,763.86 while Market Capitalization closed at N9.283 trillion against previous close of N9.192 trillion.

As brokers continue to buy and sell for their respective clients, its shows that wealth is still exchanging hands. In all 33 companies gained, 17 went down in price, 41 companies share price were unchanged out of 91 companies share that was traded.

FCMB Holding, Eterna Oil, Guaranty Trust Bank, United Capital Plc and Oando emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while NCR, Union Homes, Unilever Nigeria Plc, AG Leventis and Continental Re-Insurance featured prominently on the losers chart.

Volume traded decreased by 25.64 percent from 670.804 million to 498.784 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 32.78 percent from N2.057 billion to N2.732 billion in 4,765 deals. The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 412.659 million shares exchanged for N1.795 billion.

Conglomerates came next with 36.863 million shares traded for N0.046 billion, Consumer Goods, Agriculture, Oil and Gas sectors followed in that order on the activity chart. Diamond Bank, FBN Holding Plc, Continental Re-Insurance, Zenith Bank Plc and Transcorp Plc were the most active stocks by volume.
