The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said it support the unification of the exchange rate that was announced by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), during the week.
According to a statement that was made available to Financial Edge, the organization noted that “The Fund greatly welcomes the authorities’ decision to introduce a unified market-reflective exchange rate regime in line with our long-standing recommendations”.
The statement which was released by Zainab Mangga, on behalf of IMF resident representative for Nigeria Ari Aisen, added that “We stand ready to support the new administration in its implementation of FX reforms..
