The Chairman Issuers and Investors Alternative Dispute Resolution (IIADRI), Moses Igbrude has said that the nation’s security predicament could be resolved with alternative dispute resolution mechanism, but that the federal government appear not to be serious about resolving the issues.
In a recent chat with our Correspondent he said that not only the security matter but that IIADRI can help the Nigerian nation resolve a lot of the crisis bothering the country in recent times namely the education crisis, the debt crisis, the food security crisis and others.
Speaking strictly on the issue of security, Igbrude was cocksure that his organisation has the structure and resources to help the nation if only the federal government is really ready and serious to put an end to the matter.
However, he said that if one digs- dipper what is obvious is that the insurgency matter is being treated with kid-gloves and not with the seriousness it should require. He therefore called on the government to ensure that the security issue in the country is brought to an end in the overall interest of Nigeria.
It should be recalled that the group recently organised a symposium to address the numerous complaints raised by corporate organisations on the AfCFTA and used the platform of the symposium enable private companies in the export value chain, SME’s ,governments of various tiers to be on the same page as regards to what needs to be done and what needs to be understood for Nigeria to prosper .
Mr Igbrude hinted that the symposium was a success and gave opportunity to all stakeholders to dialogue and articulate ways to foster not only a mutual and better understanding between the players in export market, manufacturers, governments, regulators to engender good working relationship that is benefiting all parties in the value chain.
He said wherever there is trade or transactions there would always be need for dispute resolution and therefore called on the governments of Africa to ensure that effective dispute resolution platforms are in place to ensure the success of AfCFTA, saying that IIADRI was formed to encourage alternative- inexpensive ways to dispute resolution.
According to him expensive and time consuming dispute resolutions end up killing businesses and that Nigeria should ensure that alternative ways are available in the overall interest of Nigerian businesses that will be playing in the trade between African nations.
