The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has suspended Centurion Registrars Limited, its directors, and sponsored individuals from participating in capital market activities, effective immediately.
This decision was made due to the company’s failure to comply with regulatory directives and its inability to resolve several complaints filed against it ¹.
According to the SEC, Centurion Registrars Limited’s clients are advised to contact Africa Prudential Plc for guidance on transferring their portfolios to another registrar.
Additionally, the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX), the Institute of Capital Market Registrars (ICMR), and other capital market trade associations have been directed to discontinue dealings with the company and its principal officers.
The suspension is pursuant to the SEC’s powers under Section 38(4) & (5) of the Investments and Securities Act, 2007, and Rule 34(1)(e) of the SEC Consolidated Rules and Regulations 2013.
