Access Holdings Posts 14.7% Increase in 2025 First Quarter Profit Despite Funding Costs

Access Holdings Plc reported a 14.7% year on year increase in profit after tax for the first quarter ended March 31, 2025, driven by robust growth in interest income and non-interest income.

Key highlights of the unaudited financial performance shows that interest income rose by 36.3% year on year, largely driven by a 73.5% year on year increase in income from loans to customers.

Net interest income declined by 20.1% year on year due to elevated funding costs. Non-interest income increased by 63.0% year on year, driven by strong growth in net fees and commissions and income from investment securities.

On the company outlook, stockbrokers and analysts expect Access Holdings to sustain its positive momentum, supported by improved risky asset creation and the high-yield environment.

The company’s robust asset portfolio and strong growth in non-interest income are expected to drive overall profitability growth.

Profit before tax grew by 9.9% year on year, while profit after tax settled at 14.7% year on year higher.
