Investment: FG asks embassies to fast-track visa issuance

Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Okechukwu Enelamah

The Federal Government has directed all its foreign missions abroad to commence a 48-hour visa issuance regime for those willing to do business with Nigerians. It said the bottlenecks associated with visa issuance in all its foreign missions should be discontinued in order to make it easy for potential investors to come into Nigeria and do business.

The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Okechukwu Enelamah, disclosed this in a chat with journalists on Tuesday in Abuja. The minister said the Federal Government was carrying out series of reforms in the business environment, adding that the era where investors see Nigeria as a difficult place to do business was over.

He said already, President Muhammadu Buhari had launched the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council to drive government’s effort to identify and reduce bureaucratic processes and regulations that impede the private sector.
