Trading on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) closed negative on Monday March 12, 2018 as the key market indicators decreased by 0.26 percent, bringing the year to date return to 12.59 percent.
Specifically the All Share Index closed at 43,056.51 against the previous close of 43,167.86 while Market Capitalization closed at N15.403 trillion against previous close of N15.508 trillion. Volume traded decreased by 45.90 percent from 1536.638 million to 831.388 million.
While the total value of stock traded decreased by 46.37 percent from N19.707 billion to N10.568 billion in 5,651 deals. The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 718.664 million shares exchanged for N9.122 billion.
Oil And Gas came next with 65.605 million shares traded for N0.1 billion, Consumer Goods, Natural Resources, Conglomerates sectors followed in that order on the activity chart. FBN Holding Plc, Zenith Bank Plc, Japaul Oil and Maritime Services Plc, Regency Alliance Insurance Plc and Unity Kapital Assurance Plc were the most active stocks by volume.
Unic Insurance Plc, Multiverse Plc, Hallmark Insurance Plc, Royal Exchange Plc and Learn Africa Plc emerged the highest price gainers.
