The Federal Executive Council on Wednesday approved the award of the Ibadan-Kaduna rail for $6.7 billion. The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, said this while briefing State House correspondents after the FEC meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The minister said the completion period of the project was three years. Also, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Musa Bello said the council awarded the contract for the reconstruction of the Bill Clinton Drive Road for N1.9 billion.
The minister put the completion period of the project at seven months. Bello said the council also awarded a supply of chemicals to FCT water companies for N273 million. The Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu, presented high nutrient biscuits developed and proposed for inclusion in the Federal Government’s School Feeding Programme. He said the high nutrient density products would provide at least a third of the desired major macro and micro nutrients requirement.Photo Caption: Train on a rail track
