Airtel consider listing on the Nigerian Stock Exchange


Airtel Networks Nigeria Limited has hinted at a possible listing of the company on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) in no distant time. The Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the Company, Segun Ogunsanya gave the hint at NSE and Bloomberg CEO round table which took place in Lagos.

When confronted with the plans of the company to list at the exchange, Ogunsanya: “There are plans to look at every option. It is something we are going to consider. I am going to have some discussions with the president of the exchange on how and when we are going to do this and we will do what is best for the economy and the company at the right time”

None of the main four telecommunications companies-Globacom, Airtel, Etisalat and MTN Group Limited. (MTN), are listed on the Exchange. Only about 17 per cent of Nigeria economy is reflected on the market.
